MANY PEOPLE CONVERTED AT THIS TIME. HERNANDO CORTES KILLED THE EMPEROR OF THE AZTECS AND CORTES BECOME THE RULER OF AZTEC LAND.PS SO SADH.SO YAH WELL SEE YAH NEXT TIME!!!!

Welcome to the very first ''Manaal History''.

Our special words of the day are latitude and longitude.

Latitude: A distance north or south of the equator , usually measured in degrees.

Longitude:a distance east or west of the prime meridian usually measured in degrees too.

Today we will be answering one of our FAQ. Was Columbus good or bad?

Well the truth is there is no real answer. He killed many innocent Indians but he also unlocked the doors to the settlement of America.He was a bad man but he did something great.So yah. Have a fab day.

What is a Standard??

A standard is something that most people agree is appropriate and acceptable.

Example:

In America a STANDARD to eat with a fork, not fingers.

Teachers are expected to behave in standard way: Talk calmly, not yell and help kids learn material.

In school we have standards we are supposed to learn: It is standard for fifth graders to know haw explorers came to the New World, that everything we read has a main idea and 2/4 can be simplified to 1/2!!!

Kid Writing Elly's Ship Log

Hey I'm Manaal and to tell you the truth I am the author of Elly's Ship log. Well I have to do this for history so here it goes. The explores wanted to go to Asia from Europe to get silks and spices . Then people started ending up in a place they called the ''New World'' now known as North America. Then they started civilizing there and formed a areas called colonies. A colony is a land under another country claim. The End .

Didn't that sound like I copied it out of a history textbook. Well this sounds a little short for blog so I must keep going.

Well when they got there they weren't nice to the Natives . Oh and Chris Columbus you know who named Indians Indians because he thought he was in India.

Elly's Ship Log

March 15 1530,

Weave just set sail and our on our way to the ''land of riches''. Hopefully we will get there soon. Oh and I have a secret , I am a girl and in case you have you have forgot girls are not allowed to sail. What I am frankly afraid of 'tis pain of death. Sir Jock is trying a new route.I have left everything in England to travel and I am not any ol' girl. I'm tough and don' mess with me or you'll be sorrow.It is time to go to dinner I must put on my breeches.

The Roanoke Island

Yesterday we learned about The Roanoke Island . This island had a normal colony like any other ruled by England. When some English explorers went to the island a year later there was no trace of any human civilization . To this day nobody knows where are why these people vanished. They sent more English settlers to live there and see if they would disappear but they didn't. People say the Natives drove them of. There is only one piece of evidence . On the surface of the island was a single word ''CROATOAN".
